Janice Moorhead Glass Art

Layered Glass This glass work is entirely unique for two reasons. The first is the vision. My approach to glass has always been through the eyes of a “painter”. Secondly, and most importantly, is the technique -a “layering” procedure which I developed in 1985. Shards of glass are sandwiched between two large panels of clear glass, creating the image without the use of distracting solder lines. The heavy line of the soldered joint is no longer the main visual element. The glass itself now dominates the field of vision! The edges of the glass shards, now exposed, are free to interact with the play of light, a light which is never stagnant, but forever in a state of flux, depending on the season or time of day. The body of work created over the past 25+ years can best be described as an extraordinary blend of visual aesthetics and narrative. Call for appointment to visit my studio. Check out my website for more info.

Pageau, Lise

I am a Wakefield based artist with a passion for painting. My studies over the past 20 years have allowed me to expand my realm of expertise to include various mediums such as watercolour, oil, etching and acrylic. My travel has provided inspiration in what and how I paint. My journey has led me to the art of today which lies in bringing textures and vibrant colours to my acrylic works.

Wakefield Ballet

My hopes for Wakefield Ballet are to bring the art form that I hold so dear to my heart and share it with the wonderful people of this community. I am pleased to offer Beginning Ballet for the older children this year as well as an Adult Ballet class. I am sure there are a few of you out there who still have secret dreams of being a ballerina! I am still getting a feel for what is needed here in the area and welcome your comments or suggestions to help me develop a class schedule to accommodate as many as are interested.
